Enhancing a Community Library in an IDP Camp
The NHS (National Honor Society) students of the International School of Kenya joined forces with their school’s chapter of Habitat for Humanity and Freedom Through Learning so they could deliver important shelving and seating for the young readers’ section of the Vumilia Community Library. The newly constructed furniture supports the librarians and volunteer teachers who have carefully catalogued the great number of resources that the library now has. The additional seating and new chalkboard also support evening tuition of students who receive extra help from volunteer teachers.
